If the damage is minor, you can pay as little as $50 to DIY. For more complicated damage, involving cameras, lights, or sensors, you may have to pay up to $1,500. Be sure to use our service specials to save more on every visit. Here is the process for fixing car dents, paint scratches, and cracks in your bumper:
Car Dents
The materials you’ll need to fix car bumper dents are a heat gun or hair dryer, a jack, jack stands, gloves, a pry bar, and safety glasses. If you’re unsure about how to get a dent out of a car bumper, then you’ll want to elevate your car using the jacks and remove the splash guard if necessary. Use the heat gun or hair dryer to warm the dented area, then use the pry bar to apply pressure to the dent from the inside out. Use the pry bar on the deepest part of the dent first, then work through the shape evenly until the dent is more or less gone (or at least less visible).
Paint Scratches
If you’ve lost some paint on your bumper, it’s a quick fix. You’ll want a buffing compound, a drill, and a touch-up pen for this type of repair. Start by cleaning the affected area thoroughly, then buff it with the drill attachment accordingly. Add a layer of clear coat afterwards, if necessary. Then, after the bumper has dried, paint the affected area with your touch-up pen.
Allow it to fully dry, and you’ll be all set to hit the Madera roads!
Cracks
Fiberglass cracks can sometimes be a bit finicky to fix, so it might be best to bring your car to our Visalia-area service center to get it fixed up. You’ll need more materials, and the process is more technical and complex, but if you feel up to the task, feel free to DIY a repair. You’ll need a fiberglass repair kit with detailed safety instructions – be sure to read them carefully!
