The RDX is classified as a mid-sized SUV providing cabin occupants with two rows of comfortable seating for five in the 104 cubic feet of interior passenger space, as well as up to 79.8 cubic feet of available cargo volume. The three-row MDX delivers seating for as many as seven in the 132.7 cubic feet of available interior space, as well as up to 90.9 cubic feet of available cargo capacity. This makes it more spacious than the Audi Q7.

RDX vs. MDX: Engine Specs and AWD Drivetrain Options

The RDX gets a standard 272-hp 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, making it more powerful than the BMW X3. It’s available with a FWD drivetrain or with the optional AWD unit for superior handling and performance in all weather conditions. The MDX offers access to either the 3.0L V6 sport hybrid AWD capable of generating 321-hp, or the 3.5L V6 gasoline engine that creates 290-hp available with FWD or AWD.
